Mothers’ Groups

Connection, support and evidence-based guidance for mothers and babies

Local Mum & Baby Groups

The early months of motherhood can be rewarding, overwhelming, joyful and isolating — often all at once.

Our Mothers' Groups provide a welcoming space where mothers can connect with others, build confidence and access evidence-based guidance during their baby's first year.

Our small, facilitator-led groups bring together mothers with babies aged 0–12 months for meaningful conversations, shared experiences and practical support.

Whether you are a first-time mother or welcoming another baby into your family, you do not need to navigate this season alone.

What makes our groups different?

A Focus on Mothers

We recognise that supporting babies begins with supporting mothers. Our groups create space for mothers to feel seen, supported and connected during the early months of parenthood.

Support Without Judgement

Parenting comes with enough pressure already. We offer a welcoming environment where questions, experiences and different perspectives are met with understanding and respect.

Meaningful Connection

Build genuine friendships with other local mothers who understand this season of life. Small group sizes help foster trust, belonging and lasting community.

Evidence-Based Guidance

Access practical, balanced information grounded in infant development, attachment and early childhood research, helping you make informed decisions with confidence.

Facilitator-Led Discussions

Thoughtful conversations are guided by experienced facilitators who help explore common parenting topics while encouraging shared learning and connection.

Consistent Weekly Community

See familiar faces each week and become part of a supportive community that grows alongside you and your baby throughout the term.

Who are the groups for?

Our Mothers' Groups are designed for mothers with babies aged 0–12 months.

Groups are suitable for:

  • First-time mothers

  • Mothers new to the area

  • Families seeking connection and community

  • Parents looking for evidence-based information and support

  • Mothers wanting a regular weekly activity with their baby

How It Works

Step 1: Apply for a place

Choose the location closest to you and submit an application.

Step 2: Attend an introductory session

This provides an opportunity to experience the group, meet the facilitator and ask any questions you may have.

Step 3: Join the term program

Families who feel the group is a good fit may be offered one of the limited places available for the remainder of the term.

Current Locations

Applications for Term 3 are now open.

Spaces are limited to help maintain small group sizes and support meaningful connections between participants.

  • “The group is the only place I’ve genuinely felt like both mum and baby have a space where they are held together. Other support often feels focused on one or the other.”

  • “It has been amazing to connect with other mums, and the facilitator’s insight has been amazing.”

  • “A mums group with no pressure is such a good space for new mums. I look forward to going each week and sharing experiences with other first-time mums.”

  • “I would highly recommend Nurturing Beginnings to all mums. It is run very professionally, and the mums are like-minded and understanding.”

  • “The hardest part postpartum was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, not knowing where to look for support, and finding the confidence to ask for help while caring for my baby.”

  • “Knowing what advice to trust is hard when there is so much conflicting information. It would be wonderful for there to be more Nurturing Beginnings groups.”
