Your baby’s first year shapes a lifetime.

And you shouldn’t have to navigate it alone.

Nurturing mothers.

Supporting babies.

Strengthening communities.

The first year of life is a profound beginning — for babies, mothers, families and communities. Mothers’ Group exists to make this beginning feel more supported, connected and informed.

We believe that when mothers have access to calm guidance, respectful support and meaningful community, babies benefit — and families are strengthened from the very start.

Our work is grounded in early childhood development, and a deep respect for the mother–baby relationship. As a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to making high-quality early parenting support more accessible through fully-funded professionally facilitated Mothers’ Group programs and community connection initiatives.

Why Early Support Matters

The first year of life is a period of enormous growth — for babies, mothers and families.

During this time, access to calm guidance, social connection and trusted support can strengthen parent confidence, support infant development, reduce isolation and contribute to family wellbeing.

When mothers are supported, babies benefit.
When families feel connected, communities grow stronger.
When support is accessible early, it can have a lasting impact.

Mothers’ Group is committed to reducing barriers to making this kind of early support more available to all families.

  • “The group is the only place I’ve genuinely felt like both mum and baby have a space where they are held together. Other support often feels focused on one or the other.”

  • “It has been amazing to connect with other mums, and the facilitator’s insight has been amazing.”

  • “A mums group with no pressure is such a good space for new mums. I look forward to going each week and sharing experiences with other first-time mums.”

  • “I would highly recommend Nurturing Beginnings to all mums. It is run very professionally, and the mums are like-minded and understanding.”

  • “The hardest part postpartum was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, not knowing where to look for support, and finding the confidence to ask for help while caring for my baby.”

  • “Knowing what advice to trust is hard when there is so much conflicting information. It would be wonderful for there to be more Nurturing Beginnings groups.”
